Machine tending

What is CNC in automation?

Numerical control (also known as computer numerical control, or CNC) is the automated control of machining tools (such as milling machines, lathes, grinders, drills, milling cutters and 3D printers) using a computer.

What exactly is meant by ’machine tending’?

Machine tending means to load and/or unload a given machine with parts or material. Automated machine tending refers to the integration of a robot into a machine tending application for the purpose of loading and unloading the machine tool without the intervention of an operator.
